Can lack of sleep cause weight gain?

These days I am not able to sleep for more then 4-5 hours. I am gaining regular weight too. Is my weight gain due to my lack of sleep. My exams are coming and it is only 2 months now. I cannot afford to sleep for 8-10 hours.

Could anyone confirm this that lack of sleep is causing weight gain? I have started taking lots of snacks while I am awake in the night for studies. I think it might be due to that too. very confused… Please help…
