How to lighten a birthmark

I have a birthmark on my leg and is of a size of table tennis ball. It is in a very prominent position due to which I am unable to wear shorts or wear swimming costumes. I am very embarrassed to open my pants even on beaches. Some people think that I might have been burnt in the childhood. Could someone recommend some creams or some home remedies through which I could get rid of my birthmarks.

It is advisable that you see a Dermatologist for permanent solution. If you want apply lemon juice on the affected area daily and it could lighten the scar to some extent. But for real solution, you have no option but to see a Dermatologist. Some surgical procedures are also there using which the scars could be removed.
